  This is ecological wool yarn from the Faeroe Islands. The wool is mixed with wool from the Falkland Island and contains a lot of the natural fat, Lanolin. The yarn is not very stretchable, but it becomes softer the more the finished garment is used, and is used a lot for baby underwear. Because of the lanolin, it is self cleansing is ideal for soakers. It should not be necessary to wash with soap every time, but just rinse in clean water. It is very suitable for knitting with more than one color. We do not recommend using this yarn for socks without reinforcing it with Nylon. But there is no problem using it for socks for babies and toddlers.The yarn is easy to felt. Snaeldan is a small family owned spinning mill and knitting factory with long traditions at the Faeroe Islands. They have run the business for four generations where three generations still work together.
